Due to the rain coming tomorrow, the Veterans Day Ceremony at the Roane County Courthouse scheduled for Friday, November 11, 2022, is canceled. The cancelation does not affect other Veterans Day events in the community.

To honor our local veterans, many of our schools will be hosting or participating in activities throughout the day on Friday. Please visit our schools' websites and social media pages for more information on how you as a veteran or community member can honor those who served.
Oliver Springs Middle School
Veterans Day Program at OSMS at 9 am, Friday, 11/11/22
Roane County High School Cherokee Middle School
Cherokee Middle School and the Roane County High School Band will host a Veterans' Day Ceremony at the Roane County Courthouse starting around 10 AM on Friday.
Rockwood Middle School
Breakfast from 8:15-8:45 AM, Program at 9:00 AM, and Downtown Ceremony at 11:00 AM on Friday
Ridge View Elementary School
Ceremony at 1:00 PM on Friday
Midway Elementary School Midway Middle School Midway High School
Midway Elementary School will be honoring the veterans
from our community with a parade and program on Friday,
November 11, 2022. All veterans are invited to join the
parade line-up beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the lower Midway
baseball field parking lot. The drive through parade will
begin at 9:00 a.m. and proceed through all three Midway
schools ending at the elementary school. All veterans will
then be honored by our elementary students with a special
program at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the gym.
Midtown Elementary School
Midtown Elementary School will host a Veterans Day parade on Friday, Nov, 11 at 9:30-10:00 AM.
Rockwood High School
RHS will host about 25 veterans to a reception; then, each veteran will speak in classes, sharing their experiences and answering questions. At 11:00 the RHS student body will attend a VFW and American Legion ceremony in downtown Rockwood to honor veterans.
Our CMS Yearbook staff is asking that ALL students wear ORANGE on Wednesday, Nov. 9th! This will be for the cover of our 2022 - 2023 Yearbook.
CMS will be at Webb tonight! Girls Varsity plays at 5 PM and Boys Varsity will play at 6 PM. Go Jackets!
We are having our 1st Annual Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday, December 10, 10 am - 3 pm at Cherokee Middle School to support School Wide Positive Behavior. Concessions will be available. Vendors interested click on the link https://forms.gle/MiWVxaVWZ3vr5M2o9

The Roane County Animal Shelter is hosting the, 'Hoot N Howl Adoption Event, tonight, Friday, October 28th & 29th, from 10 am - 4 PM!

Our CMS football team will be playing in the State Championship tomorrow, Saturday, October 29th @ 6 PM against Cumberland Gap at Campbell County High School. Good luck Jackets! Bring home the win!

Baseball Tryouts for Futures League (5th-6th grade)

Time: 4pm (arrive early to warm up)
Location: Southwest Point Softball Field
The team will play games in Knoxville mid Feb thru mid April.
You will receive a text or call if you make the team.
We will have an informational sheet regarding the season, practice, uniforms, fees, etc. available at tryouts.
