Our CMS Robotics Team is forming soon! Robotics is an interactive, STEM based, 10 person team that works throughout the year to get ready for several competitions. If your student enjoys technology and math, programming, or research and even presenting information, they might be interested in Robotics. Applications are in the library. Students must fill out the entire application and return it to Mrs. Hauck or Ms. Snyder in the 6th Grade hall by Friday, August 12.
In science yesterday, 8th grade students had a cup stacking challenge. Without touching the cups with their hands they had to perform a series of stacking challenges.
There will be a fishing team meeting Monday, August 15th at Ladd Landing at 6 PM. To join the team you need to have a boat, partner, and captain. If you are interested, bring $20 for dues and make sure that you are a BASS member. Welcome back to Cherokee Middle School! We've missed you! Schedule for this week! Wednesday: 8:20 am - 11:45 am / 1/2 Day Thursday: In-service Day / No School for Students Friday: 8:20 am - 3:20 PM / First Full Day of School (Doors open at 7:45 am. All students must be in their classroom by 8:20 am) Breakfast will be available for all students in the morning, remember that breakfast and lunch is not free this year. Cost for breakfast is $2.00, cost for lunch is $3.00. You can apply for free and reduced lunch by going to https://www.roaneschools.com/page/free-or-reduced-meals. Information will be sent home concerning free and reduced lunch, along with a packet of additional forms for you to complete and return as soon as possible. Each morning 6th graders will go to the cafeteria and 7th and 8th graders will report to the gym. Student schedules are now available on ParentVue. Please understand that most students will NOT have their schedule tomorrow, but staff will be directing students to their classrooms. 6th Grade Orientation will be Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 6 PM at Cherokee Middle School. During this meeting you will receive information concerning agendas, curriculum, websites, social media, Tremont, and so much more!
