
This morning the annual Changing of the Guard took place at OSHS as the Class of 2023 vacated their senior spots and celebrated their final day! Then, the class of 2024 took their place in the senior section. This is a long held tradition at OSHS that students look forward to every year. Congratulations to these students! The Lady Cats defeated Wartburg last night which advanced them to the District Tournament Championship game TONIGHT @ 7:00pm. Go cheer on the Lady Cats to a victory!

The Academic Awards Ceremony is tonight at 6:30pm for those students who received invitations last week.


Today OSHS would like to highlight our History Department for Teacher Appreciation Week! We are so thankful for our history teachers who also wear so many different hats for our school. THANK YOU to Mrs. Griffith, Mr. Booth, and Coach Headden.


The Lady Cats defeated the Oneida Indians last night in district tournament play with a score of 8-7. They play tonight at Wartburg at 5:00pm against Wartburg. If they win, they get to play in the District Championship. GO LADY CATS!

Today the yearbook was distributed and the dedication ceremony took place. The 2022-2023 OSHS Yearbook was dedicated to Mr. Branham, our assistant principal. The yearbook dedication was done by Mr. Rather and Sophia Freels, the yearbook editor.

Last Thursday the seniors walked the halls of Dyllis Springs Elementary School and were cheered on by former teachers and current elementary students.


Congratulations to the Class of 2023 Tennessee Scholars! To be a TN Scholar, students must have never been suspended, maintain a 95% attendance record during high school, maintain a C average during high school, and complete a total of 80 community service hours. Congratulations once again to these students on this awesome achievement!

Congratulations to our seniors at their TCAT signing day last Friday! This was a ceremony where students signed contracts stating which program they would be completing at TCAT and celebrated their commitment to do so.


TOMORROW is the Yearbook Distribution for the 2022-2023 school year. Kona Ice will be here so make sure to bring cash to buy sno-cones. There will also be about 20 extra yearbooks for sale on a first come, first served basis. Students must bring $55 in cash to attempt to buy a yearbook if they haven't already.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to our OSHS teachers! Every day this week we will highlight different departments on our social media pages that make OSHS so wonderful. The Bobcats lost to Oneida last night in the district tournament, but they are playing again this afternoon at 3:00pm at Coalfield against Wartburg! GO BOBCATS!

After an exciting end of regular season play defeating Austin East, it's Tournament Time for Baseball! The Cats play TONIGHT, May 3, in the first round of District Tournament play against Oneida at 5:30 at Coalfield. GO BOBCATS!



Vote Megan Armstrong for Prep Xtra Player of the Week! Megan went 5-of-7 with nine RBIs and scored four runs last week. In a win over Oneida, she had three home runs, two in the same inning, and pitched in relief, throwing three strikeouts and allowing five hits.
