Principal's Message

Dear Cherokee Middle School Family,
It is an honor and privilege to serve as Cherokee’s principal. I have had a life-long passion for working with children and feel very grateful for being able to serve in this role. I have had many teaching years with Roane County Schools as well as a Literacy Coach, and Learning Loss Coordinator for the district. The last two years, I have been blessed to work with the staff at Cherokee Middle through the Learning Loss Coordinator position. I am so blessed to work with such caring, compassionate, and hard working staff and students.
The mission at Cherokee Middle is to create a safe and positive learning environment where all students can achieve academically and demonstrate responsible citizenship. The teachers at Cherokee are elite teachers with very high expectations for our students. As educators, we have an incredible opportunity and responsibility of not just teaching our students but also making a positive impact in their lives.
As your principal, I will strive to keep the students at the forefront of every decision we make as a school. We will teach and provide students with the knowledge, skills and mindset necessary to have a successful future. I believe that a great partnership between school, family, and community are the key to the success of our students.
I look forward to amazing school year,
Jill Corum
